Emperors Palace CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN
Day 1-1/1/2010 by JJR
Well, you probably heard that we went to St Louis on Friday. It was a lot of fun! We woke up early on Friday to drive to St Louis, which is about 4 to 5 hours away. When got there, we ate lunch at Emperors Palace or something like that. It was AWESOME! They had a grill like at HuHot, and the very best part was, they had a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!!! It was amazing! :) We even saved money, because it was New Years Day. Im not sure how much we saved, but we saved money. Trust me.
After lunch, we went to the Magic House Childrens Museum. I don't know if you've ever been there, but I guess have, because my dad was telling me something about some guy named "Marcus." Whatever, Aurora and Jade liked it because there were lots of places where they could play house. I thought it was ok, but I definitly would've gotten bored if there wasn't a huge two-story plastic beanstalk that was fun to climb on. If you think thats fun though, wait till you hear about what we did the next day! So after the museum, we went back to the hotel. It was a Residents Inn, very nice. Two beds, one bedroom thing. There was a kitchen too, and the best, free internet! So by that time, it was dinnertime. We decided to go to the Union Station. Dad checked the internet, Parking was 1 dollar for 30 min, and the station was open until 7:30. We decided we had about an hour and a half to look around the station before it closed, and to eat dinner. When we got there, there wasn't that many cars. We walked in, and got a free fudge sample and bought some fudge. The person selling the fudge told us the station closed at 6:00. Kinda dumb right? We just missed it! We decided we could come back the next day.
City Museum
Day 2-1/2/2010
The next day, we went to eat our free breakfast and then we went to the City museum, where Kara HAS to go to at least once in her life. We parked on the streets, since it was the weekend and it was free. We saved 5$ for not parking in the museum parking lot. :) When we went in, we could see this museum was different. It was made completly out of recycled materials. We had 2 free tickets to the museum, which we used. We walked in. It looked somewhat ordinary at first, but when you looked closely, you could see secret tunnels and holes all over the place. That was the first floor. It had so many tunnels, we didn't even get through it all! It was so much fun, and Aurora and Jade did really well, except for a few places. Like this one for example: It was me, Ariel, Jade and Aurora. (Mom and Dad gave up on the small tunnels.) We had just climbed to the top of this thing, right up next to the ceiling. there was a tunnel with made out of pipes. It was long. There were two of these along the path that we were following. We finished the first tunnel OK, but a little kid behind us didn't, who was screaming her head off. I guess Jade heard, because when an even narrower pipe tunnel that was even higher than the first one came up, she started screaming her head off too! She was all like, "NO!!!!!! IM GOING TO FALL THROUGH THE HOLES!!!!!" (it was possible)"I CAAAAAAAAANT DOOOOO IT!!!!!!!!" so me and Ariel basically pushed her through the tunnel and she was alright. When we got back down, Dad was like, "That tunnel looked like you guys werent even suppose to be up there, it was so small!" After the first floor we ate lunch, then went up to the third floor. The third floor had the world's largest pencil, and skating ramps that were fun slides. There was a circus, a dark, scary tunnel maze, the circus and an organ. After that, we went to eat lunch on the second floor. Then we went to a seven story slide. It used to be a shoe ramp, because the museum used to be a shoe factory. It was fun, but hard to climb up. There were two three story slides that we went down too. Then, we went to the aquariam, on the second floor. It was OK. There was a few secret tunnels and a two headed snake, and a two headed turtle. And we got four free shark teeth from some cupon Dad had. We also saw how they used to make shoelaces. Aurora got some. When that was done, we went to the third floor and climbed down this twisty thing kinda like a giant slinky, with lots of secret tunnels that still need exploring. Then we roasted marshmallows outside, and we went on the outdoor playground. It was so much fun, but we couldn't stay for long because mom and dad said it was "too cold." We went back to the hotel. We totally want to go back there in the summer though, because it seems like theres more playgrounds on the roof! Basically, the city museum has a LOT of tunnels. When we got back, we went to the Union Station again. What a rip-off that was! First, to get into the parking lot we "had" to pay 10$ for parking cause of a hockey game that we didn't even go too! At the Union Station, we found most of the shops closed-again! We found a store owner who told us that they close whenever, not following the mall rules, when it doesnt seem to busy anymore. When we left, a different lady told us we never had to pay the 10$. Um, could've told us that before?
St Louis Arch
View from the street Walk to the arch
Day 3-1/3/2010
We got up, and ate our free breakfast. Then we went to the St Louis Arch. We went to park, and they told us we had to pay 10$ for parking, but this time for a football game... But this time we were smarter, and got in for free. We also saved 20$ on hotel parking :) We got our Arch tickets, then went to this museum where we saw these old stuff. Then we got in our little elevator thing. It was interesting, and small. The top of the Arch is so cool! (even if you knew that already.) We saw this lazy police guy drive around this huge peice of wood on the road. It was funny. Then, we drove home. We ate at the Golden Corall in Springfeild. It was a good vacation. :)
