Road trip by AMR-2010 spring break

Road Trip!
Once there was a girl named Sam. Her family was going to on a road trip. Of course Sam was so happy she packed a week early, but as soon as she got in the car the first day and her parents told her they would be driving in the car for 3 and a half hours Sam was sad. On the way she sang songs, read, drew and snacked. When they got to St. Louis it was almost dark so she went swimming and went to bed.
The next day she got up and went to eat breakfast at the hotel. During breakfast her dad said they would be driving in the car for 4 hours to get to Memphis. Sam said "But we just rode in the car for 3 hours here!" Her dad replied with "I know, but this is a ROAD trip." And they set off for Memphis. In the car she did the same things but this time she got to play with her moms IPhone. They stopped at Lamberts cafe home of the the throwed rolls. Where they actually threw fresh rolls at you! After that they went back on the road. Sam was SO BORED, but finally after what felt like forever they got to Memphis. They went to a St. Paddys parade and got to go to Graceland! Elvis Perselys mansion! They went on his airplanes, saw ALL his cars and went in his mansion! It was so AWESOME! Then they went to the hotel and went in their OUTDOOR HOT TUB! It was a little cold.
They slept and the next morning went to Nashville,Thennese(which took like 3 hours to get there). They stayed at the Drury Inn! It was a awesome hotel, the swim pool had an outdoor and indoor pool which had a wall in between the two pools and the wall had a hole where you could go through! AND the hotel had free lunch and dinner! :D! They went to a science museum and then ate dinner at the hotel and then............. SWIMMING! WOOT! They thought it was the best swim pool other then the Kalahari untill they went to their next hotel! (i will explain later!) Then they slepted and ate breakfast.
The next day they went to the PARTANON! (and found out the percy jackson movie was fake! Shh i didnt say that! :) ?) It was so cool. Then they went to Indianapolis and went to the AWESOME swim pool! It was a waterpark, it had three slides, a lazy river, 2 hot tubs and a BUCKET! It was so cool. They had dinner there and the nextday they swam a little more and then went to their last stop...... CHICAGO!

2010 Spring Break-春假

Day 1-St. Louis
This was just an overnightstop at St. Louis, Missouri. We left straight from school and came to St. Louis, where we ate dinner at their mall and stayed at an…interesting…hotel! Yay!
On the way to Memphis, we stopped at Lambert’s Café at Sikeston, MO. It was AMAZING. The place was packed, and it was a place no one has ever eaten before! We sat down for lunch. The drink cups were huge. The food portions were huge. AND the waiters threw hot rolls at you! On purpose!!! It was fun. We all caught a Hoooot Roll!

DAY 2-Memphis, Tennessee

On Saturday, we drove to Memphis, Tennessee, where we arrived just in time for the St. Patty’s Day Parade! At first we were sad because we were right underneath an awning of a bar, where on the roof, there were people yelling. It turned out to be a good thing though, because the Paraders(?) knew them and “threw” beads up to them! About 99% of the time they missed, and that’s how we got 60 green necklaces, and 40 other different colors and a whole bag full of candy. We almost got a Grizzly Flag, which would’ve been great to use during our B-Ball Game that we went to at FedEx Forum, The Grizzly’s vs. The Denver Nuggets, but that was ok. We took a trolley to the game. After the game, we put on our suits and went to the outdoor hot tub.

Do you think like a Princess!!

Day 3-
part1:Elvis's house
When we woke up, we went to Elvis Presley’s house, in Memphis. It was HUGE! We had this cool audio tour thing and we got the Platinum Tour (I think…) Anyway, it was the tour where we could see his cars and go in his airplanes and stuff. It was cool.

Part2-Nasville

After we were done touring Elvis’s House, we went to Nashville. We stayed at Drury Inn Hotels and Suites, just like grandma told us too. It was FUN. The suites were HUGE and as you know, we got free food and beverages. I don’t know if you know this though. Their website said they had an indoor and outdoor pool, which they do, but the two pools are connected. You swim under the wall to get outside! Jade was brave enough to go outside.

Day 4 : Relaxing day at Nashville
To do List
-Wake up
-Eat FREE breakfast
-Go to Science Museum. Can Moon walk and Space Jump, along with other exhibits.
-Go to Mall. Lots of Stores with Apple Barn!
-Get Medicine for Jade. Not feeling good.
-Eat FREE dinner.
-Go Swimming.
MOON walk

DAy 5: Parthenon & Indianapolis
We went to the Parthenon which was full of artwork and statues. It was cool. Athena was waaaay tall though. I was only as tall as her shoe! Oh well. Oh and Percy Jackson and the Olympians? Good movie, but they totally faked the Parthenon scene. >:)

We drove to Indianapolis and checked into our hotel. It was a nice hotel with a nice water park. They had 3 fast slides, a lazy river, a fountain area, hot tubs, and a pool with basketball hoops that someone pooped in. Other than that, it was really fun. The lines were very short. They had 2 pools. All the water was warm, except for the hot tub. It was colder than the pool was! So after the water park closed we went to the other pool to swim, until we found some brown thing floating in the water, so, remembering what happened in the other pool, we got out real quick.

Day 6:Chicago

All we really did in Chicago was go to Chinatown to eat lunch and buy some food. This was a really fun trip. Next year, we might go back to Chicago during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade to compare it to the Memphis Parade. Bye for now!

2010 New Year trip to St. Louise

Emperors Palace CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN

-Magic House Childrens Museum

Day 1-1/1/2010 by JJR

Well, you probably heard that we went to St Louis on Friday. It was a lot of fun! We woke up early on Friday to drive to St Louis, which is about 4 to 5 hours away. When got there, we ate lunch at Emperors Palace or something like that. It was AWESOME! They had a grill like at HuHot, and the very best part was, they had a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!!!!! It was amazing! :) We even saved money, because it was New Years Day. Im not sure how much we saved, but we saved money. Trust me.
After lunch, we went to the Magic House Childrens Museum. I don't know if you've ever been there, but I guess have, because my dad was telling me something about some guy named "Marcus." Whatever, Aurora and Jade liked it because there were lots of places where they could play house. I thought it was ok, but I definitly would've gotten bored if there wasn't a huge two-story plastic beanstalk that was fun to climb on. If you think thats fun though, wait till you hear about what we did the next day! So after the museum, we went back to the hotel. It was a Residents Inn, very nice. Two beds, one bedroom thing. There was a kitchen too, and the best, free internet! So by that time, it was dinnertime. We decided to go to the Union Station. Dad checked the internet, Parking was 1 dollar for 30 min, and the station was open until 7:30. We decided we had about an hour and a half to look around the station before it closed, and to eat dinner. When we got there, there wasn't that many cars. We walked in, and got a free fudge sample and bought some fudge. The person selling the fudge told us the station closed at 6:00. Kinda dumb right? We just missed it! We decided we could come back the next day.

City Museum

Day 2-1/2/2010
The next day, we went to eat our free breakfast and then we went to the City museum, where Kara HAS to go to at least once in her life. We parked on the streets, since it was the weekend and it was free. We saved 5$ for not parking in the museum parking lot. :) When we went in, we could see this museum was different. It was made completly out of recycled materials. We had 2 free tickets to the museum, which we used. We walked in. It looked somewhat ordinary at first, but when you looked closely, you could see secret tunnels and holes all over the place. That was the first floor. It had so many tunnels, we didn't even get through it all! It was so much fun, and Aurora and Jade did really well, except for a few places. Like this one for example: It was me, Ariel, Jade and Aurora. (Mom and Dad gave up on the small tunnels.) We had just climbed to the top of this thing, right up next to the ceiling. there was a tunnel with made out of pipes. It was long. There were two of these along the path that we were following. We finished the first tunnel OK, but a little kid behind us didn't, who was screaming her head off. I guess Jade heard, because when an even narrower pipe tunnel that was even higher than the first one came up, she started screaming her head off too! She was all like, "NO!!!!!! IM GOING TO FALL THROUGH THE HOLES!!!!!" (it was possible)"I CAAAAAAAAANT DOOOOO IT!!!!!!!!" so me and Ariel basically pushed her through the tunnel and she was alright. When we got back down, Dad was like, "That tunnel looked like you guys werent even suppose to be up there, it was so small!" After the first floor we ate lunch, then went up to the third floor. The third floor had the world's largest pencil, and skating ramps that were fun slides. There was a circus, a dark, scary tunnel maze, the circus and an organ. After that, we went to eat lunch on the second floor. Then we went to a seven story slide. It used to be a shoe ramp, because the museum used to be a shoe factory. It was fun, but hard to climb up. There were two three story slides that we went down too. Then, we went to the aquariam, on the second floor. It was OK. There was a few secret tunnels and a two headed snake, and a two headed turtle. And we got four free shark teeth from some cupon Dad had. We also saw how they used to make shoelaces. Aurora got some. When that was done, we went to the third floor and climbed down this twisty thing kinda like a giant slinky, with lots of secret tunnels that still need exploring. Then we roasted marshmallows outside, and we went on the outdoor playground. It was so much fun, but we couldn't stay for long because mom and dad said it was "too cold." We went back to the hotel. We totally want to go back there in the summer though, because it seems like theres more playgrounds on the roof! Basically, the city museum has a LOT of tunnels. When we got back, we went to the Union Station again. What a rip-off that was! First, to get into the parking lot we "had" to pay 10$ for parking cause of a hockey game that we didn't even go too! At the Union Station, we found most of the shops closed-again! We found a store owner who told us that they close whenever, not following the mall rules, when it doesnt seem to busy anymore. When we left, a different lady told us we never had to pay the 10$. Um, could've told us that before?

St Louis Arch

View from the street Walk to the arch

View from the Arch down
Day 3-1/3/2010
We got up, and ate our free breakfast. Then we went to the St Louis Arch. We went to park, and they told us we had to pay 10$ for parking, but this time for a football game... But this time we were smarter, and got in for free. We also saved 20$ on hotel parking :) We got our Arch tickets, then went to this museum where we saw these old stuff. Then we got in our little elevator thing. It was interesting, and small. The top of the Arch is so cool! (even if you knew that already.) We saw this lazy police guy drive around this huge peice of wood on the road. It was funny. Then, we drove home. We ate at the Golden Corall in Springfeild. It was a good vacation. :)
